Semaine du patrimoine au Musée de Moncton
The Moncton Museum is pleased to invite residents to attend the My Culture, My Canada exhibition, taking place at the museum, located at 20 Mountain Road, from Monday February 8 to Friday, February 12, 2010. A special inauguration of the My Culture, My Canada exhibit will take place Monday, February 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A light reception will follow.
The public is invited to come vote for their preferred artwork during the exhibition. Prizes will be awarded to the winners at the end of the week.
My Culture, My Canada was produced by international students from school district 2. This theme was derived from the 2010 Heritage Week’s general theme The Global Village. Students were asked to reflect upon their own culture’s decorative customs and to produce a work of art representative of these traditions.
Members of the New Brunswick Genealogical Society will also be on site to explain genealogy and how it relates to the Global Village theme. They will have information available about doing your family tree, including sources in the area and some Internet sources to help people get started.

Le Musée de Moncton et heureux d’inviter les résidants et résidantes du Grand Moncton à l’exposition Ma culture, mon Canada au Musée de Moncton, situé au 20, chemin Mountain, du lundi 8 février au vendredi 12 février. L’inauguration de l’exposition aura lieu le lundi 8 février de 17 h à 19 h. Une petite réception suivra.
Le public est invité à venir voter pour leur œuvre d’art préféré. Des prix seront remis aux gagnants à la fin de la semaine.
L’exposition Ma culture, mon Canada est l’œuvre des élèves internationaux du district scolaire no 2. Ce thème émane du thème général de la Semaine du patrimoine 2010, Le village planétaire. On avait demandé aux élèves de réfléchir aux coutumes de décoration de leur propre culture et de créer une œuvre d’art représentant ces traditions.
De plus, des membres de la Société généalogique du Nouveau-Brunswick seront sur place pour expliquer la généalogie et comment celle-ci se rapporte au thème du village planétaire. De l’information concernant la façon de faire son arbre généalogique ainsi que des sources d’informations régionales et sur Internet pour faciliter le démarrage de la recherche seront offertes.
