How Full is Your Bucket? by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer Suggested for ages 4-8

This is a wonderful story about a young boy named Felix who learns from his grandfather that everyone has an invisible bucket of water over their head. Water either drips out of your bucket when someone is hurtful to you or water drops into your bucket when someone is helpful or kind to you. What Felix learns as he goes about his day is that showing love or being kind, positive or helpful to others not only fills their bucket but also your own. This is a charming story that teaches not preaches. It’s a great metaphor as a means to talk about your emotions and how your day went. Alison, mother of 3
